Stories are the heartbeat of humanity, and I am utterly captivated by their rhythm. There's a certain magic in reading tales that ignites a fire within me. But what I truly cherish is the privilege of being a storyteller for others. Throughout my time in the nonprofit sector, I have had the privilege of encountering extraordinary individuals, each with their own unique and impactful stories. These narratives, filled with themes of love, loss, resilience, and courage, can deeply resonate with anyone who hears them. Although each story is unique, what unites them is their inherent power. When individuals have entrusted me with their stories, my aim has always been to portray them with dignity and respect. By doing so, I seek to illuminate the strength and beauty inherent in their journey. It is truly special to see someone embrace their story with pride.

To all those who have allowed me the opportunity to share their stories, I am sincerely grateful.

“Excuse me, Ms. Espinoza!”

As Lena Espinoza was leaving a viewing of an apartment in Whittier, she stopped to see who had called her name.

It was the landlord who just showed the unit to her and some other people who were interested.

“Ring the bell! Ring the bell! Ring the bell!”

This chant can be heard all throughout the KCB office when a homeless neighbor is connected to housing or when a Good Soil Industries (GSI) participant finishes the transitional employment program and starts a new job.
